Completing the exhibition are Jeppe Hein’s Rotating Mirrors — suspended, double-sided mirror sculptures that slowly revolve in space, choreographing light, movement and perception.

Each mirror takes on a distinct form: some unfold into rhythmic lamellae, others appear as ovals, rings or surfaces pierced with voids. As they rotate, reflections drift, collide and dissolve, continuously fragmenting and recomposing both the surrounding architecture and its visitors.

These works are not passive reflectors — they are active instruments of perception. They invite viewers into a shifting field of self-awareness, where seeing becomes an experience in motion. One does not simply look at the work; one is inevitably drawn into it.

Fragments of space slide across one another, overlap, and reassemble into impossible perspectives. Familiar surroundings are multiplied, layered and distorted, creating fleeting moments where the space seems to expand endlessly beyond itself.

Hovering between clarity and disorientation, the mirrors produce a kaleidoscopic reality in which the boundaries between body, space and reflection dissolve.

The exhibition features Rotating Mirror I, IV, V and VIII (all 2018, high-polished stainless steel).

FR
