Our vision is to present contemporary art with both intellectual rigor and openness: making space for experimentation while caring for context and audience. The Collection reflects the diversity and vitality of current practices across media—painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video—and across generations, placing established voices in dialogue with emerging artists.

This vision is shaped by a deliberately broad perspective. Just as the Collection embraces Japan’s Pop-inspired movements, it has in recent years placed significant emphasis on African and Afro-American artists, underscoring a commitment to cultural plurality and to perspectives that challenge and enrich the global conversation on art.

Looking ahead, the Collection continues to grow by closely following the contemporary scene and exploring new modes of display—both at home and through select off-site projects.

Our mission remains constant: to create meaningful encounters between art and audiences, and to keep the Collection porous to the ideas, forms, and futures that define contemporary culture.
